In the beginning we would like to teach you a special Bulgarian word-„NAZDRAVE“-which means „CHEERS“.We love to dance,celebrate and drink with friends, as our most popular folkdance is the “HORO” which you can try at some of the national style restaurants or at some of the folklore evenings.While you dance and drink we will introduce you the a number of worldfamous Bulgarian wines-you can try a huge variety of white, red and sparkling wines at the wine tasting dinner or at any restaurant: no matter what you would like to have-Traminer,Chardonnay,Mouskat, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Dimyat, Gamza, Mavrud, Merlot, Pamid, Cabernet Sauvignon or Rubin – they are all having extraordinary and special taste you won’t forget! Of course we are not producing only wines-our national brandy is known as „RAKIYA ’- some guests called it “THE BULGARIAN WHISKY”- it’s mild burning and it’s really good!There are a few different kinds of rakiya-the “GROZDOVA RAKIYA” is actually the grape brandy; then we have “SLIVOVA RAKIYA”-which is a plum brandy and finally-we have also many kinds of “PLODOVA RAKIYA”-which means fruit brandy.All types of “RAKIYA” are really good so don’t miss the chance to try them-and if your rakiya is already on the table-now we will introduce you our “national” salad-this is the “SHOPSKA SALAD”- which is made of tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper, onion and Bulgarian white feta cheese on the top of it. TRY IT! Another special surprise will be the cold summer soup called “TARATOR’-made of yoghurt with a dash of water, cucumbers, garlic, walnuts and salt.

You can get all the worldfamous beer- and alcoholbrands in Bulgaria, but we have also very good local beer and we are sure you will like it very much! And just before we tell you more about our food , which is delicious and so cheap,there is another special drink that is worth your attention-our “MASTIKA” (it is very similar to the Greek ouzo) -it needs to be ice cold and only then you will have small beautiful crystals in your glass... Bulgaria offers you plenty of fresh juicy fruits and vegetables,many worth trying national dishes,and meat which is mostly produced from free-roaming,outdoorreared animals.

We start with the “GIYUVECH”-made of meat,vegetables and dash of yoghurt;do not miss the “KEBAPCHETA”- small sticks made of minced pork,or the “KIYUFTETA”-meatballs made of minced pork and grilled in our traditional way –and the “SARMI”-vine leaves stuffed with minced meat,rice and spices.You can try also a charcoal roasted lamb or lamb roasted on a spit.We would also like to recommend you the “LOUKANKA”-flat cured salami.
The Black Sea is the home of more than 140 fish species,every restaurant offers you fresh fish from the sea-and you can choose among anchovy,red mullet, zander, sturgeon, gilthead,eel,turbot,black sea herring, grey mullet,blue fish,haddock,codfish,belte bonito,scad, plaice, mackerel,sprat,hake or pike and many more.If you are in a restaurant the usual money tip in Bulgaria is 10%( only if you are satisfied with the service of course); at the present time not many restaurants accept credit cards so you have to pay cash, ATM’S ( cash automats) are available in every resort and big city.Foreign currency can be exchanged also at the banks,hotels or the exchange offices.

The Bulgarian monetary unit is the Lev:1 Lev contains 100 stotinki.We have 1,2,5,10,20,50 and 100 Lev banknotes and the coins are: 1,2,5,10,20,50 stotinki and 1 Lev coin. For 1.EURO you get about 1,92 Leva- when you visit a restaurant or disco at our website you can see all the prices in their menus and compare them to the rate Leva-EURO.As you will see many restaurants are offering you discount-vouchers for self-printing at home,print as much as you want,take it with you and then give it to the staff in the restaurant-so you will pay less money! You can use only one voucher per visit ( but you can come back in 30 minutes and order again to use the second one...secret tip).Also don’t forget that every day you will get plenty of flyers and promotions-tickets on the streets-just don’t throw them away before you read them -sometimes you can get FREE disco entrance or discount with it, even a FREE drink-so read it first!
